Sound is the first thing anyone complains about

An audience forgives a soft picture. It does not forgive sound it cannot hear. At a hybrid event, sound is also the part that breaks most often — because taking it off a camera or off the room speakers records the room, not the speaker.

The Yamaha MG10XU we rent has ten channels with four phantom-powered mic preamps, so a condenser microphone plugs straight in with nothing in between. Its USB interface sends the whole mix into a streaming laptop as one clean source, and the chassis is metal, which a mixer carried on and off a stage every week genuinely needs.

The arrangement we suggest most often: take a feed from the venue mixer into this one, then send one mix to the stream and another to the camera as a backup. If the venue has no mixer of its own, four preamps cover two speaker microphones, a spare, and a music source.

Rates are per unit per day and exclude 11% VAT, delivery, and an operator.
