The cameras we use ourselves

The cameras on this page are the ones we take to our own jobs. Two camcorder bodies — the Panasonic AG-HC X2 4K and the Sony HXR-MC2500 — were chosen for the same reasons: both run for hours without stopping, both have the optical reach to hold a stage from the back of a room, and both feed a switcher directly without an extra converter.

For an event that is recorded and streamed at once, one camera is rarely enough. The pattern we use most often is one locked-off wide and one on the speaker, with both feeding a switcher. If you are renting two bodies, say so when you ask — we match their colour settings before they leave, so the two do not look different on screen.

Every unit ships with its case contents: batteries, charger, adaptors, screen protector, the on-board microphone, and a Takara Hydro B18 tripod. The kit list is written out on each unit page, so you can check it against the case at handover. Everything is tested before each job.

Rates are per unit per day and exclude 11% VAT, delivery, and an operator. If you need someone to run the camera, that is part of our documentation or live streaming service rather than an equipment rental.
